CAIRO – The Cabinet’s media centre denied news reports about issuing a decision to do without teachers in public schools who are not graduates of education faculties.

In a statement on Monday, the centre refuted reports that only educationalists or graduates of education faculties will work at schools.

The centre added it communicated with the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, which dismissed the news as “groundless.”

No decisions were issued in this regard, the ministry stressed.

Teachers, who are graduates of other faculties, will not be excluded from the educational system, the ministry noted.

New teachers will be appointed at schools following the competition, that is currently being held to choose the best 30,000 teachers that will pass all tests, according to it.

Such reports are meant to disrupt the public order and trigger outrage, it said.

The ministry urged all teachers not to be deceived by such reports and to immediately contact the ministry if they have any query.
