CAIRO – The Egyptian Cabinet media center denied the reports circulated about the government’s intention to cut allocations for subsidies and social protection in the new general budget for the 2022/2023 fiscal year in line with implementing the second phase of the economic reform programme.
The media center said in a statement Friday that it has contacted the Ministry of Finance, which totally dismissed such reports.
In this regard, the center urged media outlets and social media users to verify the authenticity of any news prior to publishing such rumors that confuse public opinion.
