The Cabinet media centre denied reports claiming that some food commodities are not available at markets.
In a statement on Tuesday, the media center said it has contacted the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade which denied such reports and termed them as baseless.
The ministry underlined that all commodities are available in all markets nationwide, adding that reserves of staple and strategic commodities are at the safe level for several upcoming months.
The ministry said campaigns have been launched to ensure that all basic commodities are provided to citizens along with checking on avoiding the storing of commodities at any warehouses or banning any manipulation in prices.
The center called on social media users to verify the authenticity of the news circulated to avoid perplexing public opinion, urging citizens to file complains at the consumers’ protection authority to report any violations on hotline 19588.
