CAIRO – The media centre of the Egyptian Cabinet denied on Thursday reports that the government cancelled the registration of mobile number for ration cards.
In a statement, the centre dismissed as groundless the reports, saying it is a necessity to upgrade ration cards.
The centre said it contacted the Supply Ministry that stressed that citizens should register the cell phone number of breadwinner and that registration period will continue till June 30, 2022.
Citizens will register needed data through Supply Egypt website or head for any nearby supply office.
The centre urged media outlets to verify the authenticity of any news before publishing them to avoid disrupting public opinion.
