The Cabinet, under Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, approved Wednesday a presidential draft law regarding a financing agreement
of the Sustainable Transformation for Agricultural Resilience (STAR) in Upper Egypt between Egypt and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).
The agreement, which was signed on January 28, 2022 in Rome, aims at improving the quality of life in the governorates of Minya, Assiut and Sohag.
The agreement also aims at increasing production, improving the quality of various products and confronting water scarcity in the future.
The Agriculture and Land Reclamation Ministry is responsible for implementing the programme.
