Egypt’s Minister of State for Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates’ Affairs Soha Gendi held a consultative meeting with members of the foundation board of the Egyptians Abroad Investment Company via video conferencing, according to a statement by the emigration ministry on Monday.
Gendi underscored the importance of the company as a national project and a most important demand by the Egyptian expats.
The establishment of this company was recommended by the third version of the conference for Egyptian entities abroad, which was held in August, said Gendi.
The company will be fully run by Egyptians living abroad as they have greater experiences in finance and business sectors, she added.
The meeting discussed executive steps to jump-start establishing the company and its action mechanisms and sectors, according to her.
The minister said the Egyptian state took several measures for making it easy for Egyptian and foreign investors to do business in the country.
In turn, the board members said they are appreciating the interest of the ministry in encouraging Egyptian investors living abroad to do business in the country.
They added the state exerted painstaking efforts to improve the investment atmosphere and establish a strong infrastructure to lure further investments.
