Our first episode’s guest is Egyptian film director Mayye Zayed who produced an award-winning documentary about women weightlifters.
The documentary, titled “Ash ya Captain” or “Lift Like A Girl”, tells the story of a unique venue in Alexandria where a male captain trained young women on weightlifting and some of those women later became world champions.
Zayed’s documentary is now being displayed at Zawya Cinema.
