Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has discussed with South African Minister of Trade, Industry and Competition Ebrahim Patel and Lebanese Minister of Economy Amin Sallam, separately, means to promote inter-trade and joint investments.
A statement issued by the Ministry of Trade and Industry Wednesday said the meetings were held on the sidelines of the 12th ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization currently in session in Geneva.
According to the statement, Gamea and Patel discussed efforts to promote and exchange viewpoints about the outcome of their meeting held in November in Durban, South Africa.
The South African minister expressed his country’s keenness on boosting economic relations with South Africa as the two countries’ economies are considered the most important and the biggest in the continent.
Gamea discussed during her meeting with the Lebanese minister of economy efforts to promote economic relations between Egypt and Lebanon as well as issues tabled on regional and international arenas.
The Lebanese minister expressed his country’s keenness on expanding joint cooperation at all levels, saying the Lebanese government looks forward to increasing trade exchange between the two countries especially in crops and food products as Lebanon imports 90 percent of its food needs.
