CAIRO – CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Abdel Wahab has shed light on cooperation with the Japanese Embassy in Cairo to increase Japan’s investments in Egypt.
During a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Egypt Oka Hiroshi, Abdel Wahab said GAFI is keen on continuing cooperation with the Japanese side to increase Japanese investments.
They exchanged viewpoints on mechanisms of attracting Japanese investments to Egyptian markets in cooperation with Japanese companies.
Abdel Wahab said an agreement was reached with the Japanese side on sending a GAFI mission to some Japanese cities to explore investment cooperation and pump more Japanese investments into Egyptian markets.
They agreed to hold a meeting of the Egyptian-Japanese committee for investment promotion in the first half of 2022.
For his part, the Japanese envoy reaffirmed the strength of Egyptian-Japanese economic relations, expressing keenness on encouraging Japanese investors to pump new investments into Egypt.
