French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné lauded the talks which he held in Cairo on the Palestinian issue.
He underlined Egypt’s leverage to avoid a regional war, achieve peace and ease the situation in the Middle East region.
He made the remarks on Saturday during a joint press conference with Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty.
He said this is his fourth visit to Cairo in six months, thus highlighting Egypt as a key partner to France.
Underscoring Egypt’s pivotal role in the region, he pointed out that his talks in Cairo tackled several urgent issues in the region and means of enhancing bilateral relations.
He stressed the importance of ending Gaza war, ceasing fire and releasing hostages and detainees.
He accentuated the importance of easing the situation in the region, highlighting the importance of the Egyptian-French partnership.
