Enacting a law on the freedom of information is indispensable for countering rumors, said participants of the National Dialogue Committee on Human Rights on Sunday.
This came during the first session of the Human Rights and Liberties committee to address a law on the freedom of handling the information.
Adopting a balanced and adequate law on information handling would be in favor of the government, said Member of National Dialogue Board of Trustees Emad el Den Hussien.
The law would be a crucial tool dedicated to countering the phenomenon of malicious rumors prompted by plotters, preemptively reveling problems to swiftly deal with them, as well as contributing to the anti-corruption efforts, Hussien said.
