Egypt’s Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad asserted that efforts have been focused on setting the stage for 130 industries in Egypt to adopt the circular economy thought.
The state is seeking to include many industries to attain a net zero carbon emissions, she said, adding the country has developed a green finance roadmap for the industries to help in achieving energy efficiency, relying on renewable energy and re-using liquids.
The minister’s remarks came while attending an international conference for “Act to zero,” which was held under the sponsorship of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli Saturday.
The event offered an important opportunity for probing different chances and challenges in this regard, in addition to knowledge transfer to attain a transition to net zero emissions in the future.
