CAIRO – CEO of Al Nas Hospital for children and former member of the House of Representative Anisa Hassouna died on Sunday aged 69 after a battle with illness.
The late MP had been honored by Intsar El Sisi, the wife of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in appreciation of her charitable efforts.
She was born in Cairo in 1953 and graduated from the Faculty of Economics and Political science, Cairo University and held the post of CEO of Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation.
Hassouna worked as a diplomat at the Foreign Ministry for 14 years at the the Council of Arab Economic Unit, an offshoot of the Arab League.
In 2016 President Sisi issued a decree appointing her at the House of Representatives and her parliamentary membership continued until the end the previous session.
