A delegation of referees and players from Greece, Lithuania, Belarus and Ukraine, participating in the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships, visited Giza Pyramids on Saturday.
For the first time, Egypt hosts the 2021 UCI Junior Track Cycling World Championships at Cairo International Stadium cycling track under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
The event, which warps up its activities today, is organised by the Egyptian Cycling Federation in co-operation with the Union Cycliste Internationale.
This visit came within the framework of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ keenness to benefit from important events held in Cairo to promote various tourist and archaeological destinations here.
The delegation was received by Ashraf Mohieldin, Director of the Antiquities area of the Pyramids, where he took them on a tour of the Great Pyramid, the Sphinx and Panorama areas.
The members of the delegation expressed their fascination with and admiration to the pyramids and Sphinx.
