CAIRO – The Egyptian Foreign Ministry asserted that it has been following up with deep interest the developments in the case of shooting and stabbing an Egyptian physician in Al Quseim region in Saudi Arabia.

In a statement released, the Foreign Ministry said the Egyptian consulate in Riyadh is following up the case round-the-clock and makes the necessary contacts in this regard, adding that a visit was made to check on the health condition of Ayman Abdel Sallam Rezq, who is currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

General Consul Tareq El Meligey explained that the consulate is continuously following up the developments with officials at the Saudi Foreign Ministry and Internal Affairs ministries as well as Al Quseim district, asserting that they are doing their best in handling the case.

The Foreign Ministry, through its consular sector and consulate in Riyadh, will continue following up the case, wishing the Egyptian doctor a quick recovery.
