Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati met on Tuesday with Communications Minister Raafat Hindi to discuss cooperation in digital transformation and consular services. The meeting focused on improving services for Egyptians at home and abroad.

The Foreign Minister praised existing cooperation, especially in digitizing consular transactions through postal authentication and Egypt Digital Platform services. He stressed the importance of expanding these services and ensuring efficiency.
Both sides highlighted the need to raise awareness among Egyptians abroad about available digital services and agreed to continue offering authentication services through Egypt Post.

Minister Hindi welcomed the partnership, noting that the Communications Ministry is committed to accelerating digital transformation across government institutions. He said a pilot model has already been launched for Egyptians abroad, allowing them to obtain four types of certificates electronically, with plans to expand to more services.

The two ministers also discussed cooperation in information systems, digital infrastructure, and capacity building. They agreed to extend the exemption period for mobile phones brought by Egyptians abroad from 90 to 120 days starting April 1.

After the meeting, the ministers attended the launch of a commemorative postage stamp marking the 200th anniversary of the Foreign Ministry, issued in cooperation with Egypt Post as part of the annual Diplomacy Day celebrations.
