CAIRO – The Food Export Council, in coordination with the Egyptian Commercial Service and Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will organise a trade mission to Kenya from January 17 to 19.
In a statement on Tuesday, the council said the mission comes within its efforts to promote its exports, noting the mission programme will include a visit to a number of retailers and wholesale markets to get acquainted with their competitive products.
The Egyptian ambassador to Kenya and representatives of the Kenyan government will inaugurate the mission’s activities.
The council pointed out it is keen on offering technical and logistic support for the companies participating in the mission, adding it seeks to increase trade exchange with Kenya through setting up a database and registering the Kenyan companies which are interested in exporting raw materials and production inputs, including tea and tropical fruits.
According to the council, Kenya is the largest non-Arab African importer of Egyptian processed foods during the period from January to November 2021 at a total of $79 million.
