Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Mabdouli followed up efforts by the Environment Ministry to solve investors’ problems and improve the investment climate.
The government is working hard in accordance with directives from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to address obstacles to investment, the premier said during his meeting with Minister of Environment Yasmeen Fouad.
During the meeting, Madbouli underlined the need to review the system of approval for industrial projects according to environment criteria.
Fouad said her ministry would shorten the time taken for issuing environment approvals from 30 working days to seven days.
The minister dealt with investment in Nabq, Ras Mohamed and Wadi el Rayan nature reserves.
She also submitted proposals to encourage the private sector investment in the voluntary carbon market to offset CO2 emissions.
