Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry is set to head for Chad on Sunday to participate at the first meeting of the ministerial mechanism that comprises the foreign ministers of Sudan’s neighbors.
The meeting will be held after participants at Sudan’s neighboring countries summit, hosted by Cairo on July 13, agreed on forming the ministerial mechanism to address the conflict in Sudan and its repercussions, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abo Zeid said.
The foreign ministers are set to discuss all security, political and humanitarian aspects of the Sudanese crisis and its negative impacts on the Sudanese people as well as its repercussions regionally and internationally.
The participants aim to develop practical proposals to enable heads of neighboring countries to act effectively to put an end to this crisis, the spokesman added.
