CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Senior Advisor to the Us President on Arab and Middle Eastern Affairs Massad Boulos discussed during a phone call Tuesday the latest developments in both Sudan and Libya.

During the call, both sides emphasized the importance of reaching an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Sudan, and the necessity of preserving Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions, according to official spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tammam Khallaf.

The spokesperson added that the latest developments in the Libyan crisis were also discussed, with both sides stressing the importance of unifying Libyan institutions in preparation for legislative and presidential elections, to meet the Libyan people’s aspirations for stability and development.

Both sides agreed to continue coordination and consultation regarding related regional and international efforts, and to follow up on the UN envoy’s efforts to Libya to reach a comprehensive political solution that achieves consensus among all Libyan parties.
