Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi pays great attention to deepening cooperation between Egypt and Gulf countries in the political, cultural and economic fields.

This came in a speech that he delivered on Monday at the main session of the Egypt-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trade and Investment Forum, in the presence of Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.

The top Egyptian diplomat welcomed Gulf ministers and investors taking part in the two-day forum, which is held under the rubric: “A Roadmap to Strengthening Egyptian-Gulf Economic Cooperation.”

Abdelatty said Egypt is pleased to host the Egypt-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trade and Investment Forum, which comes at a “critical and highly significant time,” highlighting the remarkable leap witnessed in relations between Egypt and the six Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

The foreign minister underlined that Egyptian–Gulf ties are deeply rooted in history, marked by longstanding solidarity and cooperation in the face of regional and global challenges.

He pointed to the strong political relations and high-level consultations between President Sisi and the leaders of the Gulf states.

The minister stressed that the forum represents a culmination of a series of high-level engagements aimed at promoting economic cooperation to new heights, commending the institutional progress in Egypt–Gulf relations since the establishment of the Political Consultation Mechanism in 2023, leading up to the Joint Action Plan for 2024.

He added that this progress reflects a shared determination to strengthen cooperation and expand strategic partnerships between Egypt and the Gulf states.
