CAIRO – Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said reports about expansion of the Israeli aggression in Gaza are “fully rejected”.

He urged the international community to take strict measures to put an end to Israel’s aggression and its systematic starvation policy against the Palestinians.

He made the remarks during a joint press conference with Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimović.

He stressed that Egypt is holding intensive contacts with all regional and international parties concerned to exercise pressure on Israel to end its inhumane and illegal policies.

Abdelatty underlined that Egypt is proceeding with its efforts to push for ending massacres and daily destruction committed by Israeli forces in Gaza.

He called for returning to the January 19 ceasefire agreement.

Abdelatty noted that for more than 60 days, no a single aid-laden truck has entered the Gaza Strip, considering this as “shameful” for the international community.

“We cannot accept, in the 21st century, such deplorable policies that violate the most basic rules of human rights and the right to life, food, and water. Moreover, Israel is an occupying power according to the Geneva Conventions, and it bears not only a moral and humanitarian responsibility, but also a legal responsibility to provide essential supplies and food to people under occupation.”
