Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s position which supports the Palestinian Authority.
Egypt is rejecting as well any attempts to displace the Palestinians, added Abdelatty while receiving a delegation from the Palestinian Fatah movement on Saturday.
The foreign minister said Egypt is deeply interested in its contacts with active international parties to ensure a safe and sustainable delivery of humanitarian and relief assistance into the Gaza Strip amid obstacles placed by the Israeli occupation army.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf said that Abdelatty emphasized during the meeting the necessity of confronting any attempts of separation between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
The foreign minister stressed the unity of the Palestinian territory, added the spokesman.
Abdelatty discussed as well Egypt’s contacts with different parties to stop the war on the Gaza Strip and reach a ceasefire along with exchanging prisoners and hostages.
The foreign minister underscored the necessity of the unity of the Palestinian ranks and the promotion of the role of the national authority to ensure achieving aspirations and hopes of the Palestinian people.
