Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held separate telephone conversations on Sunday with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
The discussions focused on the trajectory of US–Iran negotiations and wider efforts to ease tensions across the region.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khalaf said the talks reviewed recent regional developments and assessed progress in the diplomatic track between Washington and Tehran.
Abdel-Aati stressed the importance of continuing negotiations and intensifying consultations among relevant parties to ensure the sustainability of ceasefire arrangements and consolidate de-escalation efforts, ultimately contributing to an end to the conflict, Khalaf added.
He also underlined the need for full commitment to diplomatic solutions, emphasising that dialogue remains the primary safeguard against the expansion of regional conflicts.
The foreign minister highlighted that achieving lasting peace and stability in the region requires respect for state sovereignty, consideration of the security concerns of Gulf countries, and the protection of freedom of international navigation.
He noted that sustained coordination and collective action remain the only viable path to preserving regional stability and safeguarding the resources of regional states.
