Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty Saturday praised the strategic relations between Egypt and France during a meeting with Advisor to the French President for Middle East and North Africa Affairs Anne-Claire Legendre.

During the meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Sir Bani Yas Forum in the UAE, Abdelatty expressed aspiration for enhanced economic and commercial cooperation and an increase in French investments in Egypt.

He affirmed keenness to boost cooperation in various sectors, primarily industry, transport, tourism, culture, and education.

The top Egyptian diplomat welcomed the forthcoming first round of the strategic dialogue between the Egyptian and French foreign ministries.

Regarding developments in the Palestinian cause, the foreign minister welcomed France’s support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

Abdelatty highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the necessity of concerted international efforts to ensure the implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 2803 and the swift formation of an international stabilization force in Gaza to carry out its responsibilities and mandates.

He also highlighted the importance of moving forward with steps to form a Palestinian technocratic committee to run the Gaza Strip.

Abdelatty emphasized the necessity of ensuring safe and unhindered access of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip amid the worsening humanitarian conditions.

He stressed the importance of creating a political horizon to reach a just and sustainable settlement of the Palestinian issue through the implementation of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian State.

Concerning the situation in Sudan, Abdelatty briefed the French official on Egypt’s efforts within the quadrilateral mechanism with the aim of achieving a ceasefire, which would allow the launch of an inclusive Sudanese political process.

He reaffirmed Egypt’s unwavering support to protecting Sudan’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, rejecting partition, and supporting state institutions.

He underscored the need to unify regional and international efforts to advance de-escalation, achieve a ceasefire, and ensure humanitarian access.

Abdelatty posted the French official on the outcomes of his recent visit to Lebanon, stressing Egypt’s total rejection of any violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

He also emphasized support for national institutions to fully assume their responsibilities in maintaining Lebanon’s security and stability, stressing the necessity of preventing and containing any escalation.
