Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptians Abroad Badr Abdelatty participated in the ministerial meeting of the Sudan Quartet, comprising Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the US, held on the sidelines of the 80th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
During the meeting, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s unwavering support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Sudan, as well as for its national institutions.
He stressed the urgent need to end the humanitarian suffering caused by the ongoing conflict, emphasising that no political arrangements should be imposed on the Sudanese people.
He expressed deep concern over the siege and deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the city of El Fasher, calling for an immediate lift of the blockade.
He also reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for the Sudanese state institutions.
