Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati has lauded the ongoing co-operation with the Belgian Jan De Nul Group that contributed to implementing several projects in Egypt.
He referred to a memorandum of understanding between Egypt and the Belgian group to co-operate in exporting renewable energy from Egypt to Europe.
Abdel-Aati, who is on a visit to Brussels, made the remarks during a meeting on Sunday with Wim Dhont, Offshore Cables Manager at Jan De NulGroup, according to a Foreign Ministry statement on Facebook.
The minister commended the Belgian company’s keenness to implement the power linkage project between Greece and Egypt and shed light on Egypt’snational strategy for the production of green hydrogen, which reflects Cairo’s interest in green transition.
The foreign minister asserted the state’s keenness to support foreign companies operating in Egypt and removing any obstacles facing them, voicing hope to see more investments by Jan De Nul Group in the Egyptian market.
During the visit, Minister Abdel-Aati will hold meetings with EU officials, including the President of the European Council and the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs.
