Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty departed on Monday morning for the Nigerian capital, Abuja, at the start of a tour that takes him to five West African countries, namely Nigeria, Burkina Faso, Niger, Mali, and Senegal.

This tour comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations with brotherly African nations and intensifying consultations and coordination on regional and international issues of mutual interest, including regional security and counterterrorism efforts in the Sahel and West Africa.

During his visit to Nigeria, the Foreign Minister is scheduled to hold a series of high-level meetings with senior Nigerian officials, as well as representatives of some regional blocs, members of the Nigerian business community, and the Egyptian expatriate community in Nigeria.

Accompanying the Foreign Minister on his African tour are 30 CEOs and representatives of major Egyptian companies, with the aim of boosting economic, trade, and investment cooperation with African countries.

The tour reflects Egypt’s commitment to continued active engagement in Africa and to strengthening partnerships with its fellow African nations in support of sustainable development efforts and the promotion of regional stability across the continent.
