CAIRO – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Expatriates Affairs Sunday asserted that it is closely monitoring the ongoing developments and the conditions of Egyptian nationals in Mali.

The Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued on Sunday, underscored the importance of adherence to the instructions and laws of the Malian authorities, carrying identification documents at all times, limiting movement, avoiding travel from the capital to other cities or regions, and taking caution during any necessary movements at the present time.

The ministry added that in case of emergency, Egyptian nationals shall contact the following numbers: Embassy Hotline (with WhatsApp): +223 82 18 91 58, Embassy Landline: +223 20 22 35 65, and Consular Affairs Sector Hotline at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (with WhatsApp): +20 122 685 8000.

The ministry reaffirmed that, through the Embassy of Egypt in Bamako, it continues to exert all possible efforts to support members of the Egyptian community there and maintain communication with the relevant authorities in Mali to monitor their situation and respond swiftly to any developments, the statement read.
