CAIRO – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has said that Egypt will maintain supporting the Palestinian people until the establishment of a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with al-Quds (East Jerusalem) as its capital.
He stressed Egypt’s complete backing for empowering the Palestinian Authority.
The foreign minister’s remarks came at a meeting Sunday with Palestinian Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohamed Mustafa on the sidelines of his participation in the preparatory ministerial meeting for the extraordinary Arab-Islamic follow-up summit, slated for Monday in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf said that Abdelatty discussed Egypt’s non-stop efforts to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and ensure a full and unconditional delivery of humanitarian assistance into the strip.
He condemned the continuation of the Israeli aggression and all Israeli measures to ban UNRWA activities.
For his part, the Palestinian official appreciated efforts exerted by Egypt on all fronts to support the Palestinian rights and commended the role of the president of the republic and his efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Palestinian people and restoring their rights.
