CAIRO- Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted Egypt is fully confident in the necessity of promoting co-operation among all parties, including international financing institutions and multilateral development banks to render climate action a success.
Shoukry is the President-Designate of the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Climate Change Convention or COP27.
The foreign minister was attending a session with representatives from multilateral development banks Wednesday as part of Egypt’s International Co-operation Forum.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu-Zeid tweeted that Shoukry’s participation in the forum comes as part of Egyptian keenness on communicating with all parties concerned with international climate action.
The spokesman said that Shoukry reviewed the vision of Egyptian presidency of COP27 and ways of rallying necessary climate financing to implement climate pledges.
