CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s appreciation of European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell’s brave and defensive stances in support of the sublime principles of international law, international humanitarian law and the UN Charter related to violations and attacks on the helpless civilians in Gaza, the West Bank and Al Quds.
Speaking at a joint press conference with Borrell on Tuesday, Abdelatty welcomed the EU delegation, saying that Borrell had a meeting on Monday with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to discuss bilateral ties and a number of regional files, topped by the war on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, in addition to several regional files.
The foreign minister said that he discussed with Borrell and his accompanying delegation ties between Egypt and the European Union.
They expressed their satisfaction with progress made so far in these relations, citing the Joint Declaration on the Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership between Egypt and the European Union, which was signed in Cairo by President Sisi and EC President Ursula von der Leyen, to raise relations to the level of a strategic and comprehensive partnership.
They also discussed boosting bilateral co-operation in the six areas stated in this Joint Declaration.
