Egypt’s Foreign Minister and President-Designate of the UN Climate Change Conference Sameh Shoukry urged participants at COP27 to share a spirit of collective responsibility, set aside narrow national interests and prioritize joint cooperation.
It is important that the international climate gathering comes up with successful solutions achieving the interests of all countries in the world to face climate change phenomenon, added Shoukry in an address at a preparatory meeting for COP27 Monday.
Today’s meeting is hosted by the Republic of the Congo in partnership with Egypt that will host and chair the climate conference, slated for next month in Sharm El Sheikh.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said that the foreign minister commended the Congolese co-hosting of the meeting with Egypt to get acquainted with efforts exerted to arrange for COP27.
