Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted the necessity of coordinating Arab and European moves amid the current, critical circumstance of the Palestinian cause and the humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
He urged the intervention to stop the Israeli war on the coastal enclave and provide protection for the Palestinian people.
The foreign minister was speaking while participating in a joint meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council with a number of Arab foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday, in presence of Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit.
The meeting offered an important opportunity for probing the escalating humanitarian crisis in the war-torn Gaza and joint moves by both the Arab and European sides to contain its repercussions.
