Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty, in a phone call with Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday, followed up the latest developments in Lebanon.
Abdelatty renewed Egypt’s full solidarity with Lebanon at the current critical circumstances to maintain its stability, unity and sovereignty.
Abdelatty expressed Egypt’s condemnation of the Israeli critical escalation in south Lebanon, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khalaf said, asserting Egypt’s rejection to any attempts to affect the Lebanese sovereignty.
Berri apprised Abdelatty of the political and security situation in Lebanon in addition to the deteriorating humanitarian situation, especially after the displacement of 750,000 Lebanese from villages in south Lebanon.
In the call, both sides asserted the importance of implementing UNSC decision no. 1701, urging the UNSC to shoulder its responsibility and work on stopping the Israeli aggression on Gaza and Lebanon.
Berri lauded the Egyptian medical aid supplies sent to ease the suffering of the Lebanese at the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
