Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdel-Aati, held a phone call on Wednesday with Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad Ahmed Attaf. The discussion focused on rapid regional developments and the serious military escalation affecting the region.
Minister Attaf conveyed the greetings and appreciation of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
On regional issues, Minister Abdel-Aati highlighted Egypt’s intensive diplomatic efforts, including the outcomes of his recent Gulf tour, aimed at containing tensions and preventing the region from descending into widespread chaos. He stressed the urgent need to prioritise diplomatic solutions and immediately halt all forms of military escalation threatening regional peace and security.
Both ministers underscored the necessity of ending the war. They also discussed future regional arrangements to ensure security and stability, including practical mechanisms for collective Arab security, a strategic imperative to address unprecedented challenges to Arab sovereignty.
The two top diplomats also reaffirmed the importance of enhancing bilateral relations across all fields. They agreed to maintain coordination and regular consultations to address emerging regional challenges and continue joint efforts to expand bilateral co-operation for the mutual benefit of both brotherly peoples.
