Muse for Tourism Development, led by Egyptian entrepreneur Boshra Ghaly, on Wednesday unveiled their upcoming launch of a highly anticipated travel and tourism platform that promises to revolutionise the industry.
With a strong focus on scalability and improving the overall customer experience, the Muse Online Booking aims to not only support the growth and recovery of all kinds of tourism service providers, but also make a significant contribution to the Egyptian economy.
The platform is the first integrated Egyptian-Arab international tourism platform endorsed by the League of Arab States and the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The trial launch is scheduled for October. In order to bring this project to life, Muse has entered into contracts with prominent international Egyptian companies in addition to strategic partners. The budget of LE600 million has been allocated to the project.
Ghaly highlighted the importance of forming partnerships with experts in business development, digital marketing, traditional and digital media, and technology to ensure that operators can benefit from a range of advantages. These include enhanced customer visibility, seamless data integration, close collaboration, and valuable customer insights, all powered by artificial intelligence.
He added that the ultimate objective of these partnerships is to strategically and artistically support the project, while fostering growth in the travel and tourism industry. By using advanced tools, Muse will expand operational reach, increase visitor numbers, improve customer experiences and loyalty, create job opportunities, and generate more revenue.
Hossam Darwish, a tourism and e-marketing expert and CEO of Muse, assured that the project team is committed to delivering an unparalleled experience for operators, including service providers and customers such as tourists and travel enthusiasts. The team intends to build stronger relationships, and create unique experiences that will deeply resonate with customers.
Darwish added that the global online travel market was worth $512.5 billion in 2023. Global market research firms anticipate the market to reach $1,267.1 billion by 2032, with a projected compound annual growth rate of 10.4 per cent during the period from 2024 to 2032, Darwish added. The increasing prevalence of smart devices, easy access to high-speed internet connections, the rising popularity of solo travel, and the growing number of business travellers are key drivers of market growth, he said.
Alain St. Ang, the former Seychelles Minister of Tourism and a project partner, pledged to develop a unique platform that distinguishes itself from competitors. He mentioned their commitment to staying updated on the latest global technology and continuously seeking innovative ideas to enhance the platform.
Jens Thernhart, an international expert and partner in the project, said that Muse will offer technical solutions to streamline the electronic booking process, providing tourists from all over the world with an exceptional travel experience. Additionally, it will serve as an ideal tool to promote both local and international tourism in Egypt and other Arab countries.
Tourism expert Theodore Koumelis, the head of Travel Daily News International, has confirmed his role in supporting the global presence of the platform. This will be achieved through international media coverage, as well as active participation in exhibitions and events.
In collaboration with project partners, Koumelis has developed a comprehensive plan to engage in various local, international, and Arab forums and exhibitions. Attending these events is of utmost importance as they provide opportunities to establish valuable professional relationships within the industry, he said.
Additionally, he added, they offer insights into the growth and development achievements of other companies. Koumelis believes that such participations present golden opportunities for partnership, financing, and expansion in different regions around the world.
Osama Saraya, the project’s media councillor and former editor-in-chief of Al-Ahram, emphasised the crucial role of the media in shaping the perception of Egypt’s tourism destinations. This includes highlighting the country’s remarkable natural wonders, archaeological sites, historical landmarks, and captivating attractions. Through the use of cutting-edge media technologies, the media possesses the power to effectively showcase these attractions and attract both local citizens and international tourists.
Former Red Sea Governor Ahmed Abdulla talked about the increasing prominence and effectiveness of the electronic tourism sector in global tourism marketing. He added that tourist booking platforms have become significant technology-driven projects, relying on smart applications. Furthermore, Abdulla highlighted the Egyptian electronic tourism sector, which has gained significant attention from officials due to the implementation of Egypt Vision 2030.
