Finnish President Alexander Stubb held a media dialogue with anchor Dina Salem on the sidelines of the Egypt–Finland Business Forum in Cairo, attended by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, ministers, senior officials, and business representatives from both countries.
Stubb emphasized that in today’s highly turbulent world, Finland considers Egypt an essential partner. He praised Egypt’s prominent role in supporting regional stability and highlighted the country’s major achievements in recent years. Recalling his 2009 visit as a Finnish minister leading a business delegation, he noted the remarkable progress in infrastructure and improvements in traffic conditions, pointing to Egypt’s youthful population and strategic geographic position as significant strengths.
Stubb also stressed he was not in Cairo to offer lessons to one of the world’s oldest civilizations. He confirmed that both sides agreed to expand cooperation in education, healthcare, and communications, while showcasing Finland’s expertise in modern technologies. He underlined the shared commitment to boosting trade exchanges and strengthening bilateral cooperation.
