CAIRO – Ministers of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk and Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El Khatib said Sunday the export system is currently being developed, similar to the logistics services centers for imports.

This aims to build an integrated export system in accordance with the best international practices and standards to facilitate procedures for exporters, especially in light of the increase in export support allocations to LE45 billion in the current fiscal year’s budget, to enhance the global competitiveness of the Egyptian product.

The two ministers said in a joint statement today that there is a new project to improve the working environment for export procedures in ports.

The implementation of advanced inspection and examination units in export yards has already begun to raise the efficiency of logistics services, ensuring the units are environmentally friendly and expandable to keep pace with the growth in export movement.

They added that export procedures will be digitally re-engineered to accelerate the documentary cycle and reduce costs, and there will be greater reliance on Artificial Intelligence (AI) to streamline export procedures and facilitate the customs workflow.

The ministers said the “Nafeza” platform covers more than 130 customs locations and electronically links 35 government agencies, contributing to the facilitation of trade movement.
