Fatah Movement Speaker Maher al-Namoura affirmed that Egypt has always been the main supporter of the Palestinian state and people throughout history.
The spokesman, in statements to Extra News channel Thursday said Egypt has played a significant role in advancing the peace process and reaching ceasefire agreements.
Egypt has also assumed a pivotal international role by hosting the Arab summit and contributing to the decisions issued during the meeting, Namoura said.
“We have full confidence that when Egypt is present, the Palestinian voice is heard,” he stated.
Namoura voiced hope that the Board of Peace would provide assistance to the Gaza Strip and help address the severe humanitarian crisis facing residents there.
He emphasized the importance of supporting Palestinian rights and halting occupation’s crimes and plans in the West Bank.
Palestinians are awaiting binding decisions by the Board of Peace that would compel Israel to move to the second phase of agreements, allow the entry of food, medical and humanitarian aid and permit materials needed to begin reconstruction efforts in Gaza.
