CAIRO – European Union Ambassador to Egypt Christian Berger said Cairo Water Week is an important platform for handling water issues in the African continent or at the global level.
Berger was speaking at the end of the 7th edition of Cairo water Week that was held under the sponsorship of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi under the title of “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Societies”.
Over the week, discussions tackled innovative solutions to water scarcity and climate resilience, water’s role in development processes and fostering constructive partnerships for the rational governance of water, Berger said.
He added that there is a partnership between Egypt and the EU in water management fields.
He hoped that the week’s recommendations will be applied on the ground in an effective way.
The event brought together high-level officials, experts, and representatives from over 30 regional and international organizations, with more than 155 sessions and a major exhibition showcasing innovations in water management.
