Head of the Egyptian Trade Union Federation (ETUF) Hassan Shehata said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s directives to expand the package of social protection to encompass more beneficiaries is an application of the National Human Rights Strategy on the ground.
In press statements Wednesday, the ETUF chief said the Union, with all its affiliated general syndicates, welcomes all measures taken by the president and all his directives to this respect.
Shehata said all newly introduced drives are meant to realize a decent life for low-income brackets, including workers.
The president’s instructions to widen the base of citizens benefiting from Takaful and Karama Program, enhancing food security and promoting further support to needy families, mothers and girls, together with disbursing additional aid for 9 million families within the upcoming 6 months all run in line with the build up for the New Republic, he added.
