Estonian President Alar Karis said Wednesday his country is keen on boosting co-operation with Egypt in all fields, particularly energy.
Karis, in a joint press conference with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, said the main goal of his visit to Egypt is to boost bilateral relations and create more cooperation opportunities, especially in transport, energy, defense, health, technology, mining and engineering.
Estonia is particularly interested in enhancing cooperation with Egypt in digital services and cybersecurity, he told reporters.
Karis said his meeting with Sisi also tackled security in Europe and the Middle East.
The Estonian president called on the world community and Egypt to join his country in its efforts to solve the Russian-Ukrainian crisis. He greatly appreciated Egypt’s moves to reach a peaceful solution to this problem.
Karis also praised Egypt’s efforts to achieve peace in the Middle East.
He warned of continued conflicts in the region and voiced support for the two-state solution to reach permanent peace.
