Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday said he is looking forward to meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in Ankara as soon as possible.
Erdogan was speaking during a meeting in Istanbul with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, who is on a current visit to Türkiye in preparation for President Sisi’s visit at the Turkish president’s invitation to hold the first meeting of the Egyptian-Turkish high-level strategic cooperation council.
Shoukry hailed the frequency of exchanged high-level visits between Egypt and Turkey, after restoring normal relations following over a decade of ruptured ties, according to Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
These visits were crowned by Erdogan visit to Egypt in February, Shoukry said, commending the visit results, prominent among which was signing the founding declaration of the high-level strategic cooperation council.
