The Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) dispatched on Wednesday its 169th humanitarian aid convoy, “Zad Al-Ezza… From Egypt to Gaza”, carrying urgent relief supplies to the Gaza Strip.
The aid convoy included around 42,000 food baskets, approximately 650 tons of relief materials, and about 1,290 tons of fuel to support hospitals and vital facilities in the Strip.
The ERC also increased the delivery of essential winter supplies to mitigate the impact of harsh weather conditions, including 6,600 mattresses, additional bedding, and more than 500 tents to shelter displaced residents.
In parallel, the Egyptian Red Crescent received the 29th group of wounded and injured Palestinians, facilitating their entry and exit procedures, along with their companions.
Relief efforts also included distributing hot meals, providing warm clothing, personal care items, and “return kits” for those heading back to Gaza.
The ERC has maintained a continuous presence at the border since the onset of the crisis, emphasising that the Rafah Crossing has remained open from the Egyptian side.
The ERC has also sustained full operational readiness across its logistics centres.
To date, total humanitarian assistance delivered to Gaza has exceeded 800,000 tons, supported by the efforts of more than 65,000 volunteers, underscoring Egypt’s ongoing commitment to alleviating the humanitarian crisis in the territory.
