Rami Al-Nazer, executive director of the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC), said coordination is currently underway to receive international humanitarian aid for the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip by sea, in addition to continuing in receiving aid by land and air.
Although the ERC has sent aid to the Gaza Strip, people there still need more and more due to the severe humanitarian crisis, he reiterated on Thursday.
The Egyptian Medical Syndicate trained a large team of physicians to work at the time of wars using the international badge of the Red Crescent and they are fully ready to cooperate with members of the medical sector in the Gaza Strip.
He pointed out that the ERC agreed with the Palestine Red Crescent Society to prepare a field hospital in the Strip to treat the wounded people in case the war is halted.
The number of ERC volunteers has increased from 30,000 to 32,000 ones since the crisis erupted on October 7, Al-Nazer added.
