CAIRO – Egypt’s Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad headed to the US to participate in Climate Week NYC 2023 in New York that is held on September 17-24 under the theme of ‘We Can. We Will’.
The annual event is hosted by the Climate Group and New York City and takes place in conjunction with the UN General Assembly (UNGA).
Fouad is set to take part in a number of ministerial sessions, including a special session of the president of the upcoming UN climate change conference, COP28, to maintain coordination among the ministerial groups formed to facilitate negotiations on a number of pressing issues.
She is also scheduled to participate in ministerial consultations on financing and arrangements for responding to losses and damage with a view to building on the most important outcomes of the COP27 climate conference chaired by Egypt.
