Egypt’s Minister of Environment Yasmine Fouad said Sunday the climate change conference COP27 currently held in Sharm El Sheikh tackled for the first time food and health initiatives to improve food security and health services by 2030.
In statements, the minister said the aim of the Food and Agriculture Sustainability Transition (FAST) initiative, which was launched by the Egyptian presidency of the conference was to contribute to the success of climate work.
Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister El Sayyed Al Quseir announced the launch of FAST initiative on Saturday as part of the activities of “Agriculture and Adaptation Day” held on the sidelines of COP27.
Quseir reiterated that the initiative is an opportunity for development partners to have the required finance to help counter the negative effects of the climate change.
