Egyptian Minister of Environment Yassmin Fouad said there are plans for the waste management in all governorates similar to the waste management system project implemented in Suez governorate.
The minister’s remarks were made during her meeting with Suez Governor Abdel Meguid Saqr to discuss the latest developments pertaining to the safe waste depot which is currently implemented in Suez along with the waste management system and investment opportunities in the field of waste management.
The minister reviewed the plans of handling waste in Egypt with a galaxy of experts and professors from the Egyptian governorates, praising the serious cooperation and coordination in this regard with Suez governorate to upgrade the whole system.
During the meeting, the minister was briefed on a project presented by one of the investors in the field of waste recycling. The minister asserted the necessity of conducing a technical study on the technology used in the project to be assessed by the Environment Affairs Authority in the coming phase.
The Suez governor, on his part, extended thanks to the minister on her efforts to upgrade the waste collection system and briefed her on the hardships facing the governorate in this regard.
