CAIRO -Egyptian Minister of Environment Yassmin Fouad urged the international community to work together to restore the credibility of multi-party cooperation to achieve rubric of COP16 “peace with nature” especially at a time global silence prevails regarding the situation in Palestine that suffered full destruction of natural resources not only biodiversity.
In Egypt’s word the environment minister read out Wednesday – on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi during the High-Level Segment of COP16 on Biodiversity held in Colombia – the minister said, Egypt achieved tangible progress in implementing goals of the world for biodiversity at the national level.
Egypt put nature-based solutions as an important part of its national plan for biodiversity with the aim of contributing to combating climate change and boosting sustainable development, she said.
Egypt’s efforts in implementing the global framework of biodiversity includes supporting natural reserves with necessary infrastructure for the best use of natural resources to support local communities, added the minister.
